Torah Portion #33 B’chukkotai (Leviticus 26:3-27-34)
Torah portion we read about the blessings for obedience and the punishments for disobedience. This is the last Torah portion from the book of Leviticus.

Torah Portion #31 Emor (Leviticus 21:1-24:23)
In this Torah Portion more instructions are listed that carry on the theme of holiness which we have been considering in the past few Torah portions.
Called into a priestly service for the Most High, the people of Israel continue to receive more instructions about how to maintain a state of separateness before the Creator.
Yahweh gives His people more details on what it means to be a holy nation and a kingdom of priests. He really does want them to be “holy ones,” in all they do.
Also given this week are the instructions for the appointed times.

Torah Portion #29 Acharei Mot (Leviticus 16:1-18:30)
In this Torah portion, instructions are given to avoid being make unclean. Also the instructions for the appointed holy day of Yom Kippur, the day of atonement.
“So keep my charge not to follow any of these abominable customs that others before you have followed and thus defile yourselves by doing them.” – Leviticus 11:30
Torah Portion #28 M’tzora (Leviticus 14:1-15:33)
This Torah portion in regular years is read with Parashah 27, in leap years read separately. I conintinues to talk about the law concerning the person afflicted with tzara’at and his purification of it.
Torah Portion #27 Tazria (Leviticus 12:1-13:59)
In this Torah Portion we are introduced to tzara’at. Also the instructions are given for clean and uncleanness as a result of the birth of a child.
Torah Portion #26 Sh’mini (Leviticus 9:1-11:47)
In this Torah Portion we see the priest given the instruction of how to worship and the consequences for disobeying.
Torah Portion #25 Tzav (Leviticus 6:1-8:36)
We continue to learn about the instructions of the offerings from the book of Leviticus. In this torah portion there is a shift from being general instructions for the people of Israel, to more specific directions for the priests of Israel.

The Purpose of Leviticus is an instruction for the priests and Levites outlining their duties in worship. How to perform their duties, hot to be educated regarding Yah’s sacrifices, laws, etc. It is a guidebook of holy living for community of Israel.
The word “Leviticus” means, “that which pertains to the Levites.
The theme of the book are the requirments to be set apart to YHWH
The overwhelming message of Leviticus is the holiness of Our Creator,
“you must be holy because I, Yahweh your God is holy -Leviticus 19:2
Holiness in mentioned more times (152) than in any other book of the Bible.
