The Cast:

[Me] A proper heart. The heart You want. A pure heart. [heart = mind]

[Spirit] The tool to building a pure heart?

* Hebrews 2:10 – perfect through sufferings

* Hebrews 5:8 – learned obedience by the things which He suffered

* Isaiah 53:10 – Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise Him (plus all of Isaiah 53)

Spirit: Do you trust Us?

Me: Only You know if I truly do. I’m wise enough to know that if I truly did, there would be no sin in my life.

Spirit: Why do you say, “No sin?”

Me: Because trusting You means that I fully believe that Your plans in all areas of my life are best, including my thoughts. It means You are the Master and I am a servant.

Spirit: Does the Master/servant concept bother you?

Me: Bother me? No, although I think it scares me.

Spirit: Scares you; why?

Me: Because You take away things that are important to people. You allow great pain to enter into the lives of Your children.

Spirit: Yes, this is true. So then trusting the final outcome is what you struggle with?

Me: Yes, I confess. I know I am not supposed to question Your ways; only vain men do such things. The “unknown” can be scary. That’s what my heart feels.

Spirit: You do know that a perfect understanding of Us would remove all your fear.

Me: You have said that. I’m trying to do that. I need Your help.

Spirit: So, if We would be willing to help you, what specifically would you request?

Me: I request a proper heart, the heart you want, a pure heart.

Spirit: Would it shock you if I told you that suffering is a great tool to building a pure heart?

Me: No, I have read that.

Spirit: Would you want Us to change the protocol for you?

Me: You only do what is perfect; how can You change perfection?

Spirit: So, you do trust Us?

Me: I have to, even if it scares me; I have to.

Spirit: Rest My child. We are on Our way.
